All my life I struggled with my weight. At my heaviest, I tipped the scale at around 250lbs on my short 5'5" frame. I know the struggles of trying to eat right and exercise while raising a family, working full time, pursuing an education, taking care of a house and home all while trying to have somewhat of a social life. IT IS HARD! I will never say that it's easy but I will say that it can be done. I've tried the quick fix fad diets such as low carb diets, soup diets, low calorie diets, liquid diets, supplement diets, 3 day diets, and many others. These are just that, FADS. If you want to achieve AND maintain your goals, you need to stop dieting and adopt a healthy eating lifestyle. I also dabbled in many exercise programs such as kickboxing, boxing, aerobics, swimming, cycling, and running. I enjoyed all of it but nothing gave me the satisfaction and results as strength training does. Find what works for you and do it! Because of my success in weight loss, I always have others asking me for advice or if I can help them. All I could tell them is what worked for me but unfortunately, we are all different and what worked for me, may not work for you. I was proud of my accomplishments and it made me feel amazing. I wanted others to feel the same pride I felt. This is why I became a Learn to Run Leader and completed my certification in Healthy Eating & Weight Loss as well as Personal Training through Canadian Fitness Professionals (Canfitpro).
